I was reading the latest edition of Wedding Style Guide and came across a superb article about thank you notes and thought it was only fitting that I share it. (If you haven’t come across this magazine I urge you to seek it out! It has great articles, styling tips and theming ideas, which can be used for your big day or adapted for any occasion of your choice. They also have a great website - weddingstyleguide.com.au )

The article in question was titled ‘Thanks, but no thanks’ and went on to advise that it is essential to write thank you notes to everyone who has helped to make your special day such a success.

Here are the key points from the article:

- Presents delivered to the bride before the wedding must have a thank you note sent, from the bride, on behalf of herself and her fiancé before the wedding

- With presents that are delivered with a registry service or taken to the wedding, the bride and groom have three months to send their thank you notes

- For ease, make a list of who gave you each present and what it is

- The thank you note must be handwritten

- Stationery can vary - but it should be stylish and good quality

- Make the letter personal and heartfelt

- Ensure you express your gratitude for the present and offer a description of how it might be used

However if you can, I would recommend getting a copy of this article, as it is the best one that I have read on this subject matter.

And much to my delight, monogrammed note cards, much like the French Navy ones shown below were used on the example thank you notes, which clearly made me very happy!
