As with her sister’s wedding, her father, the King, walked the bride down the aisle (not the standard tradition in Sweden) before handing her over to her groom. The Princess didn’t have bridesmaids, instead only having bridal attendants.

The official wedding photographs were taken in the Palace’s Bernadotte Library, with the bridal party and a selection of their guests before they moved on to the wedding dinner, held at Drottningholm Palace.

I was watching television last night when I saw that the documentary on Diana Vreeland, ‘The Eye Has to Travel’ was about to begin. How fabulous!

It may sound strange, but she has always reminded me of my mother.

My mother has always encouraged me to read, travel, learn languages and most importantly to follow my dreams. When I decided to start my own company, she was right behind me. (As were the rest of my family.)

My mother also taught me about styling, grooming and how to live a life less ordinary.

Growing up, you don’t realise that what you’re taught in your household is different from everyone else. You just assume that everyone lives the same way that you do. It’s only when you get older, that you realise the difference.

Had it not been for these life experiences, I don’t know who I would be today. I’m blessed to have a crazy, eclectic mother who has always taught me to think and dream big! And that there is always room for a splash of colour …. Diana Vreeland pink perhaps?

With the 60 year anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s reign approaching on 2 June 2013, sketches by couturier Norman Hartnell of the Queen and Queen Mother in their coronation dresses have been released and will form part of an upcoming summer exhibition at Buckingham Palace.

The series of Hartnell sketches will be available for the public to view from July 27 to September 29, 2013 - alongside a selection of paintings, objects of art and pieces from Her Majesty’s personal wardrobe.

This book was described as a 'visual feast' by the lady who suggested it and as I used to work at Tiffany's (many, many years ago) and used to delight at the window displays, I can only imagine just how divine this book is!

This deluxe, definitive volume follows YSL through every stage of his preparations for his 2002 spring collections. Also included are never before published quotes from YSL as well as photographs from his early years and pages from his mother's scrapbook.

And what did I add to the mix? (Those who know me well really wouldn’t be surprised.) I had wanted to buy this book as soon as it came out, but dithered a bit, until a friend rightly advised that it would sell out and so I should get to it! As I was living overseas at the time, and my birthday was coming up, my parents advised that they would like to buy it for me, which makes it all the more special.
